GE dishwashers have been disasters for at least ten years.  How is it that GE can produce complicated diagnostic medical equipment, engines for military and commercial aircraft (which have their own defect history), and nuclear power plants, all the while running a world-wide media conglomerate, but they can't make a decent dishwasher?  These relatively simple modern conveniences we (should be able to) take for granted have been and continue to be the cause of:

  • numerous recalls
  • house fires caused by defective switches
  • flooding of homes due to valve leaks
  • wheels on the baskets that have to be replaced on a regular basis
  • and slow, insidious leaks that go undetected until the homeowner discovers damage to floors and sub flooring sometimes resulting in rot and mold.

The following links depict life with a GE dishwasher and what you might expect if you already own one.
