I had my new stove delivered on 8/19/2006 and have loved it up until Friday 9/29/06. On 9/29/06 I was
eating dinner with my sister and while we were sitting down we were making a cake in the oven. The
oven had only been at 375 degrees and only on for about 30 minutes when all of a sudden we heard an
explosion. When I CAREFULLY opened the oven door I discovered that the two panes of glass on the inside
of the oven door had completely exploded sending glass all in the stove and when I opened the door glass
came flying out. I had no idea what to do, so I took pictures of the door and all the glass inside and then
had to vacuum all the glass up. I can't even explain what went through my head. Now I don't feel save
using my oven and I have no idea what GE is going to do for me. I spend all of Friday night trying to talk
to a human but was unsuccessful. So needless to say I have been without an oven since Friday and I have
no idea how long I am going to be without one.

Cathy,
Thank you so much for responding. I have attached some pictures for you to see, the ones of the inside
of the stove... if you look closely you can see shiny pieces which is the glass inside the stove. All I can
say is that I am so grateful that my 2 year old niece and two dogs where not near the stove when I
opened it because as soon as I opened it the glass just came shooting out. Now me, my niece, my sister
and our dogs were all sitting at the kitchen table when this happened so I don't even want to image what
would have happened if the outer glass exploded... It is just to scary to think about. Now I can't even
really begin to explain my experience with GE Consumer Relations via email because it just wont do it
justice. So to put it best I tried everything you suggest all to talk to a gentleman by the name of
Mr. Watts at the GE headquarters for him to respond to everything I said by saying "I will note that in
your complaint" and then to "end" the conversation by saying "I am just going to put you on hold until
you decide to hang up." Well needless to say at that point I was DONE with GE. So I got a hold of the
local District Sales Manger of Home Depot (where I purchased the oven) and told them everything that
happened and they made me feel so much better. They told me to go ahead and let the local appliance
company fix the door and then if it ever happened again HD would replace the stove for me. So I feel
much better knowing that if it happens again HD will support me as a customer and take care of me.
I am still in shock over how horrible GE's customer service so as soon as I send this email will be filling
out the UL customer complaint form. I really hope that GE realizes that their products are unsafe.
Thank you again and please let me know if you need anything else.
Lauren
